SAP 4.6 Implementation – Automotive Electronic Safety System
The Customer:
Elesys: Automotive Electronic Safety Systems – a global business leader with a history of providing automotive safety electronics upon which consumers have depended for the last decade.
The Problem:
The company had been using third party manufacturing facilities and wanted to bring manufacturing in-house so that they could manufacture their own goods.
Their requirements were as follows:
- Ability to track parts to comply with Industry’s 17 year tracking requirement
- Better purchasing and procurement procedures
- Inventory forecasting
- Batch management
- Warehouse throughput
- Facilitate communication with third party vendors
- Train new employees in process management
The Vision:
Elesys plans to expand its core products by developing tomorrow’s technology today. Elesys products will continue to exceed national safety standards so that every customer, large and small, will be safer every day.
Solution:
NEC installed SAP4.6. Increased capabilities included:
- Production planning
- Purchasing and procedures
- Master requirements planning
- Batch management which included linking vendor lot number with SAP
batch number to third party software and communicating it all to third party
- Provide link to the SAP finance module
- Provide training scripts for each process

- Automated fixed assets and product costing and inter-company transactions and consolidations

- Automated time stamps on business transactions
